The Triad Chapter of the Golfers Against Cancer organization distributes its fundraising contribuitions into grants that are then awarded to Comprehensive Cancer Centers at Duke, Wake Forest , and the University of North Carolina, and to the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. Nationally, Golfers Against Cancer has funded cancer research, including matching funds, in the amount of $16,000,000, since 1997. In 2005, Triad Dinner for Cancer Research raised $257,500 and distributed it into the 2006 Grants; $275,000 in 2006 was distributed into the 2007 Grants; and $270,000 was distributed into the 2008 grants (see Results of Grants).
