Use of nanotechnology in medicine to study sending heat probes to specific tissue and activating the probes in
mice.
Peter Clark , MD - Wake Forest - $25,000
The study of the role of Vitamin D and soy in the prevention of prostate cancer.
Michael Morse - Duke - $60,000
Study involving enchancement of the bodies' own defense mechanisms with vaccines to lead to longer survival in
colorectal cancer patients.
Robert Orlowski , MD* - UNC - $75,000
Study of specific targeting of drugs that effect proteosomes resulting in cancer cell death in patients with myeloma,
lymphoma, and leukemia.
